Samsung Galaxy S10 series launched in India, price starts at Rs 55,900: Specs, launch details

The Galaxy S10, S10e and S10+ were first announced globally in February at Samsung’s Unpacked event on February 21. Since its announcement, the Galaxy S10 trio have been available for pre-orders in the country, and on Wednesday the company announced that the phones will go on sale starting Friday, March 8.The Galaxy S10 and S10+ are the high-end flagships that offer all the premium trimmings that includes an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, triple cameras, curved Infinity-O displays, reverse wireless charging and the Exynos 9820 chipset along with the new One UI software. The Galaxy S10e is Samsung’s iPhone XR in a sense as it loses gets a side fingerprint sensor, dual cameras and a flat Infinity-O display in order to keep the price point more affordable.Samsung Galaxy S10 series price and launch offersSamsung Galaxy S10e is the most affordable of the three flagships with a price of Rs 55,900. It comes in a single variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Galaxy S10e will be available in Prism Black and Prism White colours.The Galaxy S10 comes in two variants – 8GB/128GB and 8GB/512GB. The base model is priced at Rs 66,900, while the top-end variant costs Rs 84,900. The Galaxy S10+ starts at Rs 73,900 for the base model with 8GB/128GB configuration and Rs 91,900 for the 8GB/512GB variants. There is also a ultra high-end model with 12GB of RAM and a whopping 1TB of internal storage that costs a cool Rs 1,17,900. This top variant will be available in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black colours.advertisementFor customers who have pre-ordered the Galaxy S10, deliveries will begin from Wednesday, March 6. The Galaxy S10 series will be available for buying via Samsung.com/in, Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm, Tata CLiQ and select retail outlets across India starting Friday, March 8. Airtel Store will also offer the S10 with bundles plans. The Galaxy Buds will be available for Rs 9,990.Samsung Galaxy S10 series specificationsThe Galaxy S10 trio come with Infinity-O punch-hole Dynamic AMOLED displays, but they differ in size. The Galaxy S10e offers a 5.8-inch flat display with a FHD+ (2280×1440) resolution, while the Galaxy S10 and S10+ sport 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch QHD+ (3040×1440) displays, respectively. All three phones come with 19:9 aspect ratios with slim bezels all around as well as support with HDR10+.The Galaxy S10e and S10+ get a single circular cutout for the selfie camera, but the S10+ gets a wide, pill-shaped hole for dual selfie cameras. The Galaxy S10 and S10+ come with a new ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that uses sound waves to register your fingerprint for better security and accuracy. The S10e on the other hand gets a side fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button. The Galaxy S10 phones run on the latest Exynos 9820 chipset based on an 8nm process. The affordable S10e comes with 6GB of RAM, while the S10 gets 8GB of RAM and the S10+ is offered with up to 12GB of RAM. All three phones will ship with the latest One UI based on Android Pie, which brings features like system-wide Dark Mode and a redesigned UI for easier one-handed use.The regular S10 and the S10+ both come with the same triple camera setups, which includes a 12MP f/2.4 telephoto lens, a 12MP wide-angle lens with Dual Aperture (f/1.5-2.4), and a 16MP ultra wide-angle f/2.2 sensor. The S10e gets a dual camera system with the same 12MP wide-angle and 16MP ultra wide-angle cameras as the regular S10, but minus the telephoto camera. The Galaxy S10 series is also the first to support video recording in HDR10+. The camera apps come with a dedicated Instagram mode that let’s you quickly share what you capture on the social media platform.The Galaxy S10 and S10e offer a 10MP f/1.9 selfie cameras, while the S10+ gets dual selfie cameras with a 10MP f/1.9 main camera and a 8MP f/2.2 depth camera with support for Live Focus. The Galaxy S10e, S10 and S10+ come with a 3,100mAh, 3,400mAH and 4,100mAh batteries, respectively. All three devices support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options on the Galaxy S10 series includes Bluetooth 5.0, 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C port. The S10 is also the world’s first smartphone to support Wi-Fi 6. The Galaxy S10 also comes with a new Bixby Vision specifically designed for India as Samsung partners with fashion e-commerce store Myntra. Speaking of Bixby, the S10 phones come with a dedicated Bixby button that can now be remapped as well.advertisementSamsung also announced the India availability of the new Galaxy Buds truly wireless earphones, Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch and Galaxy Fit band. The former comes with new high efficiency chipset allows for upto 6 hours of playback on a single charge, adaptive dual microphones, and the case can be charged wirelessly on the back of the S10.
