The queens of the East Asia Pacific (EAP) region-the Pacific MMI Lewas returned to the country this afternoon to a warm reception from family, friends and supporters.The Lewas gathered outside the terminal and sang their victory song to the crowd of people who had gathered to welcome back the newly ranked number one team in the EAP.Lewas coach Kunemo Amini said that she was extremely proud of the girls who had achieved their main goal of being number one again.“We trained hard and played hard. We deserve it, we’ve been waiting for it for four years and we finally got what we wanted. Thank you to all our sponsors, our family and friends and the country for their support,” said Amini.Amini said there was still room for improvement and that the team would be working on enhancing their fitness levels as well as improving their technique in fielding and batting. She said this would help them prepare for the upcoming world cup qualifiers.From the EAP women’s trophy in Japan, a total of six Lewas players were named in the EAP team named by tournament directors. This was the most number of players out of all the competing teams.
