first_img View post tag: middle east Second Patrol Vessel Delivered to Omani Navy Authorities Share this article View post tag: Omani Navy View post tag: RNOV Shinas View post tag: Patrol Vessel View post tag: Second September 14, 2015 View post tag: RNOV Sadh View post tag: ST Marine Back to overview,Home naval-today Second Patrol Vessel Delivered to Omani Navy Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) delivered the second Patrol Vessel RNOV Shinas to the Omani Navy.The Company also held the Naming Ceremony for the third PV RNOV Sadh built for the Navy.The contract for the design and build of the four Al-Ofouq Class of PVs was awarded by the Ministry of Defence of the Sultanate of Oman through a competitive international tender in April 2012.These four vessels will replace the current four Seeb-class patrol vessels commissioned in the early 1980s.The Al-Ofouq class of PVs measures 75m in length and displaces approximately 1,250 tonnes. Armed with a modern weapon and combat management system the PVs are most suited for a variety of maritime and homeland security missions such as undertaking extended surveillance patrols of the Sultanate Exclusive Economic Zone.Image: ST Marinelast_img
